New Beginnings - or - The Fast and the Furious!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Finished the last of the three required Real Estate Pre-Registration courses and scored a 90% bringing my overall average to 91% ... not too shabby!

Have been meeting with various brokerages this week and last and the offers have been flying!  Apparently a well-educated, well-spoken, fairly well-put-together, young-ish gentleman like myself is a pretty hot commodity in a real estate market where the average salesperson's age is 55, only 1 out of 10 new salespeople last past the first two years, and only 2 out of 100 (yup, 2%) find long-term success.  Go figure!

Have one more interview to go tomorrow with one of the 'big guns' of the industry and then it's decision time.

Wish me luck!

Just Getting Started

Hello one and all!

Welcome to my new Blog Space.  I'm embarking on a new career as a Real Estate Salesperson in the Hamilton, Ontario area and look forward to sharing stories, insights, and tips and tricks with you as the journey progresses!

First up - write the final exam!

For anyone interested in starting a career in Real Estate in Ontario you need to visit OREA.com to sign up for courses (available online, by correspondance, or in class) in order to become registered and allowed to trade in real estate in Ontario.

The courses are full of background information regarding real estate in Canada, practical information regarding housing types and construction, and the technical information you need to write the various pre-registration exams.

Wish me luck!
